Cadeby Christmas Service

Added at 23:38 on 09 December 2020

An open-air carol service is planned to be held in the grounds of Cadeby Church from 7pm on Friday 18th December.

To be led by our Rector, the Revd Mark Poskitt, and our Curate, the Revd Ann Hall, it will be a shortened version of the traditional Christmas service of carols and readings, with the following requirements:

  • Social distancing must be maintained.
  • Households/bubbles up to a maximum of 6 people only may attend.
  • There should be no mingling between households/bubbles.

If it’s raining, the service will be held inside the church and will include readings and prayers only – no carol singing.  Places will be limited to around 20.

  • If the service is to be indoors, face-masks must be worn,  unless you have an exemption.

We apologise that there may not be space for everyone  so to help us to accommodate as many people as possible, please email our Churchwarden, Janet Hicklin at janet.hicklin@btopenworld.com and let her know the following:

  • Would you wish to attend an outdoor service?
  • If so, how many people would wish to attend from your household/bubble?
  • Would you wish to attend an indoor service?
  • If so, how many people would wish to attend from your household/bubble?

If you’re not able to attend the service, please remember that the church is opened daily until sunset, decorated for Advent, with carols playing at weekends and on special days at Christmas, so there is plenty of opportunity to visit.

There are tags to write to hang on our prayer tree and paper angels to take home and make.  If you’d like to make your own angels to add to our displays in church, please do!

With all good wishes,

Cadeby DCC
