Crime Update

Added at 09:49 on 23 February 2021

Crime update from Rob Cross (Police, Pc, Hinckley and Blaby NPA, Market Bosworth):

The '29 beat' as it is known covers 52 villages (Market Bosworth and the surrounding villages across to Twycross, Groby, Ratby and Markfield and everything in between).

Year to date we have had only 2 domestic burglaries on our area. These have both been domestic related with named suspects who have been arrested and dealt with.

It's important we update you with the things that matter to you - the fear of burglary was a big concern for many of you in the last survey we did. Also on the list of matters that you wanted us to look into was Anti Social Behaviour and Vehicle Crime. These are also very low down in terms of crime stats. We know that lockdown is a large part of this but it's no reason for complacency.

The emerging threat is a fear of dog thefts which seem to be on the increase nationally.

Please consider Ring doorbell cameras or similar.

Are you in a local WhatsApp group? We know that many have been set up recently. Please share the Neighbourhood Link message. We'd like to use this as a dynamic and current method to keep you updated with what we are doing, and of course we also need to know what matters to you the most.
