Garden waste service update
Added on 23 April 2020
The garden waste collection service will resume from Monday (week commencing 27 April).
The Borough Council suspended its garden waste collection service on 23 March due to staff shortages arising from the coronavirus pandemic. Staff were diverted to ensure the refuse (black bin) and recycling (blue lidded bin) collections continued as normal throughout the pandemic.
However, this has been kept under constant review and staff levels are now in place to enable the service to be reintroduced.
Residents can check their bin collection day online.
All subscriptions have been automatically extended by up to two months for customers to cover the one month period the service was suspended.
Anyone who wishes to subscribe to the 20-21 garden waste service who hasn’t already done is encouraged to go online or call 01455 238141 if they don’t have internet access to ensure their service continues beyond the extension period. The cost of the service is £24 a year. Customers are asked to allow at least 10 working days for the 20-21 sticker to arrive before presenting the garden waste bin.
The council apologises for the inconvenience and thanks customers for their patience during these challenging times.
